I visited Don Bosco today ( 5th June) to have a look. Basically I am looking for Management seat for my nephew from U.P.
The moral of the students is not so great there, probably due to recession...

what are your thoughts on it...

also given a choice, would you prefer Vemana or Don Bosco..

Many thanks for your replies...

what about uvce?

JASON S said...

UVCE doen't really figure out very well since it is the only Engg college still affiliated to Bangalore University and not VTU.

rahul said...

i hav heard the faculty and placement in uvce is much more better than top colleges of bangalore
(i do not mean rvce or pesit)but it only lacks in terms of its infrastruture .Also it is a NAAC rated college and hardly any college is there in bangalore with such a rating.

JASON S said...

Nopes BU and VTU syllabus is different. BU is very out-dated and that's one reason some company's don't prefer BU anymore.

When VTU is talking of C#, BU still finds excitement in C.... that's how bad it is for higher semesters!!

rahul said...

yeah it is a bit out dated but a person needs to know 'c' well before he learns 'c#' because without the knowledge of 'c' one can't even learn 'c++' then 'c#' is further away.In terms of placement uvce as far as i know better than even bit.

Being to the intellectual community - I personally feel that St Joseph Engineering College, Mangalore is quite under rated. no other other college in sothern india including NITs can match us in extra cirricular activities. although i got an average rank of 3899 in cet 2008 - I'm satisfied with all major ascepts here except reputation to some extend............. also just 10 min from my home...........i don't find any major benifits of leading a hostel life in Bangalore............
